Your response to that post was flawless. as a merthur shipper i hate to see fellow shippers post hate and behave like this but the response it got... wow. Calling everyone who ships merthur " emotionally stunted, immature little assholes who have to deal with the fact that weak fanservice aside, so they don’t really have much going for them apart from their hate" was... really uncalled for. But kudos to you my friend.
Thank you, bb <3 I was unpleasantly surprised by the amount of hatred some other shippers hold for those who like A/M, but well, to each their own. If somebody enjoys spending time on hating, it’s their problem. And even if someone needs to hate on something aloud (happens to the best of us), it’s sad when the hatred is for real people and not for the opinions.
oh wait. no one ships Arwen!
Wow, how clever of you. I’m really glad I ventured into the cesspool that is the Merlin tag for the first time in months, otherwise I would have missed out on this inspiring little post. Thanks so much.
OMG! Ya know. Each time they do this. I laugh harder. Mainly cause you guys are AWESOME and also because they do this, cause they are running scared cause the writing is on the wall and this is their little form of rebellion. Guess what…makes no diff…still is. LMAO! Silly asses. Like your ship. Enjoy your ship. No one gives a shit. Move on. Oh and while your at it, stop using bits and pieces of ARTHUR AND GUINEVERE scenes to falsely attempt to make a point. It just looks stupid. Wait…that’s right. It would….cause you…are…at ease. Carry on.
I don’t know guys, maybe we’re too harsh on them. I mean they are emotionally stunted, immature little assholes who have to deal with the fact that weak fanservice aside, so they don’t really have much going for them apart from their hate. I almost feel pity more than anger…it must suck to constantly realise that the only thing you have to hang onto is a deluded sense of ‘WELL NO ONE SHIPS THEM, SO THERE!!!’ when all the actual evidence (episode ratings etc) proves that there is no end to their stupidity. Poor widdle Merthur’s who tag hate to try and feel important. there, there…
You know, I don’t usually answer to this kind of verbal abuse, but this is kind of disgusting. The opener was a bit too sarcastic, but as one of ‘emotionally stunted, immature little assholes who have to deal with the fact that weak fanservice aside, so they don’t really have much going for them apart from their hate.’ who ship Arthur/Merlin I’m pretty sure that the response their post got is not adequate and way too defensive. If you are so ready to make such hateful remarks about a whole group of real people over an imaginary pairing, maybe you need to think about your priorities.
@WRMiller2 asks: Why was it necessary to eliminate Lancelot from the series? Did you consider recasting the role?
“We didn’t think of recasting, no. I’d still never say never about Lancelot, but he’s returned from the dead once, I think that’ll have to be it! He’s a great character and I think Santiago [Cabrera] played him brilliantly, but I think it’s best left there.” (x)

I was thinking about a very important difference between Gwen and Merlin. They were both servants, both “blessed” of Arthur’s attention and love.
When it’s time to decide about their place at Arthur’s side Gwen says “I only wanted to be your queen”. Merlin says “I’m…

‘Yet it keeps happening to me. I cared about these people, I don’t understand… What have I done wrong? Why do they hate me?’
I didn’t set out for it to happen, but I recently realized that Gwen/Lancelot has become an OTP for me. I can’t read fic anymore with them paired with anyone but each other, even just as a background pairing. One of the reasons I mostly stick to modern AU fics these days.

Sometimes I think that the writers would like us just to forget that Season One ever happened. It felt like they tried to erase or reset most of the character relationships and take the show down a different road. Unfortunately for me, I got pretty attached to that early version of the show. It may have been a little silly and cheesy, but I still enjoyed it more than anything that’s come afterwards. It’s not that S2-forward is necessarily a bad show - it’s just not the show I fell in love with.
I loved season one, generally liked season two, hated season three, loved the first half of season four, and was indifferent about the second half of it. There were some shifts in certain relationships in season two that I still don’t want to accept. (and neither does, from his interviews, Bradley James :D)
